In California, only 501(c)(3) nonprofits can legally hold raffles, as long as they follow some simple but important rules. We'll have the state's official raffles expert on hand: Tania Ibanez, Senior Assistant Attorney General of the California Attorney General's Office, will go over the rules and provide tips and guidance. Topics to include:

* What percentage of money brought in can be given out legally in a cash raffle?
* Is the cost of a raffle ticket tax-deductible?
* What about online sale/promotion of nonprofit raffles?
* Is it true a nonprofit raffle has to be registered with the State of California?

In addition, we'll catch you up to date on recent raffle-related legislation and CalNonprofits' public policy goals regarding raffles.
